FATHER just won its first American award as Best Animated Documentary at the prestigious Chicago International Children’s Film Festival!
A year and a half into its festival circuit, the film had its American premiere last week. The festival takes place for 31 years in Chicago and is the first competition festival of animated film for children in the US. It is also the only children’s festival in the world that is recognized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as an Academy qualifying festival. Top prize winners from the Adult juries in the categories of Live action short film and Animated short film qualify to be seen by the Academy’s nomination committee, so fingers crossed they notice FATHER too!
